With the issuance of Utah Law SB0284, by October 2026, cities must allow detatched ADU's on qualifying lots greater than 10,000 sf (that's slightly less than 1/4 acre). However, cities may still regulate setback and size requirements. It is critical to understand your local zone ADU requirements.
